CAVB Launch New Web Site And Integrated Management System

African Volleyball Confederation “CAVB” announce the preparation for the “New Integrated Management System” and New web site in another great leap forwards for the administrative work of the Confederation.

The Mega project is a new Management System serving all 53 NFs of the continent and can adapt the new era of volleyball development and expansion. It comes as a new dramatic change in CAVB management due to the efforts of CAVB Board of Administration under the leadership of its president Dr Amr Elwani.

The idea started in 2010 but CAVB wasn’t able to realize it due to limited resource at the time. Following FIVB new technology trends, CAVB was working on the best practices and collecting a comprehensive internal database.

At the CAVB 2013 Congress a plan to adopt and support the NFs by developing NF management system was announced by CAVB President Dr Amr Elwani before it is declared now for new era.

With the support received from the FIVB President Dr. Ary Graca the project cost and proposal was presented to the Board of Administration during its meeting in March 2015 and it was approved unanimously by its members.

The objective of the new CAVB/NFs Management System is to serve as a unique continental communication and database platform to provide NFs with unlimited technical resources, without any cost burden of them, using one of the most experienced Volleyball services provider; the Data Volleyball project.

A preparatory meeting was organised in CAVB headquarters with Mr. Emilio Spirito, the Data Volley Project Representatives attended by CAVB President Dr Elwani, CAVB 1st vice President Mr Mory Keita, Executive Member and Supervisor of NFs Management System Mr Majore Timba, where the full details of the project were declared.

The CAVB Platform will provide service to every member of the African VB Community including NFs, Zones, Board Members, Officials, Referees, Coaches and Media.

The main idea of the project is to establish a Management Tool that will connect the NFs, Zones and Headquarters and at the same time to provide individual platforms controlled and managed by each NF based on its own activity capacity and needs. CAVB will provide each NF with its own management system, database and webpage, which allow them to update the competitions online, register their players and upload their activities with photos on the web site as well as to the social media. Each NF will be able to connect to the CAVB e-library and e-learning materials.

Each continental Zone will be also provided with its own management system, database and webpage to upload the zonal competitions to their corresponding web pages and social media. The Zones will be able to download and submit the various required reports to CAVB on-line.

CAVB officials (Board Members, Zone Presidents, Commission Presidents, Technical Supervisors, Delegates and referees) will be provided with a login access to add and update their personal information. The database will be used by CAVB to assign officials to its competitions.

Coaches could also access the web site for E-learning materials, Match Statistics, Teams comparison and the different continental and international Match Video and Data Volley Sharing.

Referees will access their individual account for E-learning materials and their assignments on-line.

Through that system CAVB HQ will be able to computerise all its communications and documents related to all stakeholders and competitions across the continent beside following all running competitions status.

The web site will also provide full coverage of the competitions including the Data Volley statistics, a comprehensive Photo Gallery for all competitions and interactive calendars for all the ongoing and future CAVB, national and zonal activities.

The system will allow the follow up for the African Dream Project where all NFs and stakeholders will be able to share experience, news, photos and videos and see the continuous progress of the programme.

“The project was like a dream since few years and now it becomes a reality,” said CAVB Vice President Mr Mory Keita. “The project reflects the solidarity of Africa as we should maintain our unity to see that dream. I invite the entire volleyball family to join us because the project will assist all our volleyball family.” He added.

FIVB and CAVB Board member Mr Majore Timba was happy to follow the details of the project. “With that era, Africa is going to benefit from all the stakeholders and move forwards under the leadership of Dr Elwani. I’m sure our sport will progress and have a great leap with that system.”
