Russia’s Yelena Isinbayeva and Great Britain’s Mo Farah named AIPS Europe Athletes of the year

The awards which started 32 years ago is giving by AIPS Europe to outstanding sports women and men in a particular calendar year, Isinbayeva is not new to this award as this is her 3rd award while this happens to be Farah’s first ever AIPS Europe ward, Farah garnered more votes than Rafael Nadal, Franck Ribery and Sebastien Vettel.

Isinbayeva on her own part polled more votes than Ruta Meilutyte, Tina Maze and Julia Efimova

Usain Bolt and Serena Williams voted “Best Athletes of the Year by International Sports Press Association AIPS

Jamaica sprint master Usain Bolt and American Tennis star Serena Williams have both been voted AIPS Best Athletes of the year 2013. The AIPS is the umbrella body for sport journalist worldwide, and this is the second year in a row that both sport stars are being voted as Best athletes of the year.

According to the Secretary General secretary of the AIPS Roslyn Morris A panel of 470 sports journalists from 96 countries voted in this year’s poll. And the countries are listed here:

Usain Bolt got 1282 votes, F1 back to back champion Sebastian Vettel was second with 499 votes While Cristiano Ronaldo of Real Madrid came third with 437.

For the Women

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce of Jamaica came third with 551 votes, Yelena Isinbayeva of Russia was second with 644 votes, while American Tennis queen Serena Williams came first in the Poll with a total of 915 votes.

Best Team of the year:

This Award went to German, European and World champions Bayern Munich with 1707 votes, NBA Champions Miami Heat got 1128 votes to place second while New Zealand’s All Blacks Rugby team were third with 461 votes
