Mamadou Sakho Faces UEFA Ban For Failed Drug Test

Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho will not contest his failed drugs test after his A samples tested positive for a fat burner which contains some Banned substances.

Sakho was tested during his sides Quarter-final match with Manchester United.

The Period for him to ask for his B sample test as now lapsed so this means the defender will now wait for the European Football Governing body to sanction him.

The French defender has had a very successful season with Liverpool this season especially under new KOP Boss Jurgen Klopp but he will not play any part in Liverpool’s European campaign tomorrow at the El Madrigal when Vilarreal host them in the first leg of their Europa League Semi-final.

Goalkeeper: Simon Mignolet (Liverpool):

The Belgian shot-stopper had an excellent display in Jurgen Klopp’s first game in charge of Liverpool. He made two world class saves from Clinton Njie and Harry Kane to help the Reds secure a point at White Hart lane on Saturday.

Right back: Carl Jenkinson (West Ham):

The yound English defender is in the “form of his life” and it is no surprise he is in our team of the week once again. It was a tough match for him at Selhurst Park but he shaked it off and scored a lovely goal.

Centre-back: Mamadou Sakho (Liverpool):
Mamadou Sakho has a stand-out performance against Tottenham at the weekend. The French defender made nine clearances in the match.

Centre-back: Chris Smalling (Manchester United):
The English defender was in control of his defence at Goodison Park at the weekend. He was a “rock” in United’s back line and made sure Romelu Lukaku had no clear chance of scoring.

Left-back: Marcos Rojo (Manchester United):
The Argentine defender had an excellent performance at Goodison Park on Saturday. He made more tackles than any other Manchester United defender and provided a lovely cross for Ander Herrera to score United’s second goal.

Centre-Midfielder: Georginio Wijnaldum (Newcastle):
The 24-year old Dutch midfielder had an inspiring day at the “office” and scored four fantastic goals against Norwich. He orchestrated Newcastle’s rhythm in midfield and his passing was a joy to watch.

Centre-midfielder: Morgan Schneiderlin (Manchester United):
The Frenchman had an outstanding performance against Everton at the weekend providing a “shield” to United’s back four. Schneiderlin made more passes than any other Manchester United player against Everton and also scored his first goal for his new club.

Left-winger: Raheem Sterling (Manchester City):
The young Englishman skills and finsihing was a joy to watch against Bournemouth. He scored his first career hat-trick in the 5-1 victory against Bournemouth.

Right-winger: Alexis Sanchez (Arsenal):

Alexis was a “menace” every time he got the ball against Watford and capped off his excellent performance with a goal.

Striker: Jamie Vardy (Leicester City):

The Premier League top scorer Jamie Vardy scored two lovely goals to earn his team a draw at St. Mary’s stadium at the weekend. The Englishman has now scored in six consecutive league matches, only three other Englishman have done that this century.

Striker: Wilfried Bony (Manchester City):

The Ivorian striker looked like the striker we knew at Swansea when he scored two well-taken goals against Bournemouth at the weekend.
