AYAYA JOINS ABIA WARRIORS FC

The first player to be bought at one million naira in the Nigerian League, Emeka Nwanna popularly called “Ayaya” has joined Abia Warriors Football Club of Umuahia on loan until the end of the current season.

The lethal striker, who made the mega move from Rangers international of Enugu to Enyimba of Aba in 2001, was until his loan move to Umuahia in mid season, on his second missionary journey to Enyimba.

Ayaya told Abia Warriors’ website that he decided to pitch his tent with the Umuahia based outfit to contribute his quota towards the realization of the club’s aspirations.

The former Calabar Rovers, Heartland of Owerri and Kwara Utd hitman, said he simply loves Abia Warriors not only as Enyimba’s sister club but also because of the professional way the club is run adding that his ambition is to help the club pick a continental ticket at the end of the season.

On the secret of his longevity in football, the Anambra state-born striker said he does not indulge in negative influences but takes lots of fruits and vegetables particularly after every training session or after a match

NNL Week 25 Results Plus Week 26 Fixtures

NNL

Week 25 games were played in both Division A and Division B of The Nigerian National League over the weekend with only the Dss Fc vs FRSC FC game to come up Today Monday the 25th of August 2014.

Of the seven games played in Division A, and even the eight games in Division B, Plateau Utd’s away victory vs TEAP FC remains the only victory on the road this week. that game ended 1-2 in favour of Plateau Utd.

The Kwara Utd game versus Wikki Tourist In Ilorin Recorded the highest number of gaols in a single game this week in the NNL, with Kwara Scoring 4, while Wikki could only manage 1, to make it a total of 5 goals.

This has now brought Kwara Utd within one point of Wikki who seat on top of the Log with 44 points, while Kwara Utd follow closely on second with 43 points.

The Battle for Promotion in Division B as taken another twist as Shooting Stars lost to First Bank Fc of Lagos 1-0 at the Agege Stadium, while Rivals Gabros Fc Defeated Prime FC 1-0, Gabros and 3SC are now joint first with 41 points each, but Shooting top the league with a Superior goals difference.

The relegation battle is equally interesting if not more intriguing as just like the top of the table nothing much separates six teams at the bottom of both logs.

While its not looking good for Prisons FC, others relegation battlers like FRSC, TEAP and DSS are still in with a shout in Division A.

The Story is not different in Division B as Stationery Stores are now at the bottom of the log with 30 points, same with Unicem Rovers while COD Utd, Prime, Remo and Go Round are caught up in a massive battle for Survival.

NNL Week 9 Clash, Kwara Utd berates Wikki fans…….calls for security for match officials

20140407-133932.jpg

Kwara United FC of Ilorin, have berated the fans of Wikki Tourist of Bauchi over what it describes as “unruly behaviour” of the irate supporters of the club.

The club in a statement on Monday in Ilorin said the harassment of the match officials during week nine encounter involving it and Wikki at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi on Saturday at the close of the first 45minutes led to the centre referee Jonathan Zakariyah from Kaduna making all calls in Favour of the host.

The statement added that some fans of Wikki Tourist had attacked those supporting the visitors when they raised placards in support of the Afonja Warriors in the morning during the pre-match talks.

“It said our Bauchi fans were brutally attacked on Saturday morning when they came to meet us and support us when we arrived at the stadium for pre-match talks”

“Our bench was also attacked mid way into the second 45 when one of the fans obstructed the player warming up to come in”

“Because of the half time harassment, the referee made every call in Favour of the host and awarded a penalty to the host in the 61st minute converted by Mohammed Ahmed in the 62nd minute”

“When our Media Officer was taking pictures of the attack on our bench, some fans protested and even attempted to take his gadgets from him” the statement said.

The club urged the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), to tighten security around match officials in the Nigeria National League(NNL) as it remains the foundation of our Premier League.

The statement expressed confidence in the board of the NFF led by Alhaji Aminu Maigari and that of the NNL to deliver quality football to Nigerians.

Wikki Tourists Football Club was in ruthless form yesterday as the Bauchi-based team walloped the visiting TEAP FC four nil to still lead the Nigeria National League (NNL) Division A just as Gabros International which lost woefully to Go=Round FC in Omoku on Friday is Division B frontrunner.

Gabros was beaten three nil in a better forgotten weekend which also saw Prime FC fumble to a 2-2 home draw with Mountain of Fire and Miracle (MFM) of Lagos.

However, it was sweet victories for Plateau United which beat Supreme Court 2-0 and Adamawa United which defeated Spotlight 2-1 even as Niger Tornadoes and Nigerian Prisons recorded wins against Ranchers Bees and Kogi United respectively.
