Giwa vs Sharks! Sharks Beg For Answers

It is no longer news that the inconclusive match between Giwa Fc and Sharks will now be replayed at the FIFA goal project in Abuja.

This to us is okay but not by all standard because clubs like Gombe united and Lobi stars both who had a similar case like ours got three points in matches against Nembe city which was inconclusive like ours,so the big question we ask is why were these teams awarded three points and Sharks was asked to replay its own match against Giwa fc.

SHARKS FOOTBALL CLUB

This is just one of the many question we want to ask the organizing and disciplinary committee of the Nigeria football federation because we strongly believe that justice was not done in the matter between Giwa and Sharks haven found the former (Giwa) guilty of the offense levelled against it, so we appeal that the three points be awarded to Sharks like the O and D did for other teams.

It also baffle us to know the O and D was silent on who will foot the bill of the treatment of Gabriel Olalekan, the player hit by a missile thrown into the field of play by fans of Giwa fc and what about who will foot our travelling expenses to Abuja if our appeal for the three points is not awarded to us,come to think of it the guilty club is barnished to Abuja a journey less than four hours from jos while we have to do ten to twelve hours to honour the match where is the justice here

Dolphins managed a draw at the Pantami Stadium in Gombe on April 20, 2014, scoring through Ebube Okpokwu.

Dolphins were unbeaten in the League for 6 games and in all competitions for eleven, but they lost that on Wednesday following a 2-1 defeat in the hands of Enugu Rangers.

Dolphins Focus On Gombe After Rangers Loss

Eguma said after the game that he believed his players did well and deserved to win but will not dwell on a game that has ended.

“We prepared to win or at worst pick a draw but it was quite unfortunate that we couldn’t.

“All was well until the ending part of the game when the referee gave a penalty against us and I really do not think that was a penalty but we won’t let this one match pull or back as we will continue to strategize for other game and people we will recover from today’s loss,” Eguma said.

Embattled Rangers coach, John Obuh said he just wanted to win, knowing the strength of the current Dolphins side.

“Dolphins have gone unbeaten for so long so I expected them to play as well as they did so I just wanted to win no matter what,” Obuh said.

After going six games unbeaten in the League and eleven in all competitions, Dolphins fell 2-1 to Rangers in a game that could have gone either way.

Rangers took an early lead through Super Eagles attacker, Osaguona Ighodaro in the 10th minute, his 14 goal of the season.

Tijani Adamu equalized for Dolphins in the 63rd minute before Christian Obiozor scored Rangers’ winner seven minutes later.

Dolphins get reward from Media Officer…as he debunks talks of a purported “player strike”

Players of Dolphins FC received a surprise reward from their media officer, China Acheru, following their draw at the Sharks FC Stadium.

After Wednesday evening’s training session at the Port Harcourt Liberation Stadium, the media officer presented the players with cartons of Lucozade Sport drinks with a promise to do more if they continue to get more points on the road.

“You all made me a very happy person on Saturday at the Sharks FC Stadium and even though I was almost attacked by Area Boys after the game, the fact that we took a point out of our neighbours is something I am very happy about,” Acheru said.

The media officer charged the players to go and get more points on the road, especially from Gombe United where they visit next weekend.

Captain of the side, Sunday Rotimi thanked the media officer for the gesture and promised on behalf of the players to do more.

“Presenting us with these refreshing drinks has lifted our spirits and we promise our media officer that we will continue to strive hard in games and present him with a continental ticket at the end of the season,” Sunday Rotimi said.

Dolphins play at home to Rangers on Saturday at the Port Harcourt Liberation Stadium and then have another home game in midweek against Giwa FC before traveling to face Gombe United at the Pantami Stadium on Sunday.

Acheru also took time out to debunk rumours of a purported impending strike by players of the Port Harcourt team, affirming that no player is being owed salaries but only two match bonuses.

The media Officer also reiterated the fact that the LMC in agreement with Club owners abolished signing on fees and gave clubs until the end of this season to pay last season’s fees.

“Our players trained yesterday, will train today and will continue to train” he said

My name is Abutreka, Meet Dolphins FC midfielder with Egyptian name

Dolphins hard working midfielder, Naseem Abutreka has cleared the air over his name which sounds strange for a Nigerian.

Popular Egyptian forward, Mohammed Abutreka retired from active football just last season after winning two AFCON titles, five CAF Champions’ League trophies, three Africa Super Cup trophies, seven Egyptian league titles, two Egyptian Cups and five Egyptian Super Cups.

However, Naseem Abutreka wants to make his own name for himself at Dolphins.

“I know there is a lot of controversy surrounding my name. People even ask me if I am from Nigeria or Egyptian because the popular Abutreka they know is the legendry one that played for Egypt.

“Abutreka is actually my grandfather’s name and I decided to use it when I became of age.

“I am Nigerian, from Kogi State. I am from a divided family, so to say. Some are Christians and some are Muslims and my grandfather happened to be a Muslim and went by the name, Abutreka. I just decided to use it,”

he said.

Abutreka joined Dolphins last season from Gombe United and boasts a high work rate, an attribute that has worked well for the team since he joined.

“I want to win trophies with Dolphins and I will play my part to ensure that this dream is possible,” Abutreka said.
