Battle For Semi-Finals Holds…As Eko Talent Hunt 2 Tourney Continues…

Fame Feeders Team will today (Friday) take on the Eko Football Future Stars U-15 side in the last group game of both sides in the ongoing Eko Talent Hunt Season 2 tournament.

Victory for either of the two sides will ensure progression for the side having both lost one and won one in their first two matches of the tourney.

Poshey football Academy will also battle BRF Academy with both sides also eyeing qualification for the semi finals of the tournament put together by the Office of the Special Assistant to the Governor on Football Matters.

Cowbell Football Academy who are already sure of qualification having won first two matches beating Eko Football Future Stars by lone goal in their first match before beating Fame FA by the same score line yesterday at the Campos Mini Stadium venue of the tournament that has representatives of German Bundesliga side, Werder Bremen, Rudiger Degenhardt present.

Kenneth Eze, President of Africa Tomorrow Plus who is also in Lagos as part of the Werder Bremen partnership with the office of the SA on Football Matters expressed satisfaction with the standard of play in the tourney.

He stated that there is not doubt about the talents around but what is lacking coaching, saying that with good development Programmes such as the ongoing tournament can only help to develop the youngsters further.

However Farmers football academy yesterday defeated BRF Football Academy by three goals to one, while Eko football Future Stars stopped Greater Tomorrow Academy by four unreplied goals.

Cowbell Academy beat Fame Feeders by a lone goal to book a place in the semi-finals. Porshey Football Academy walked over Pepsi Football Academy who withdrew from the tournament at the last minute.

Eko Talent Hunt 2 – Hots Up With More Matches Scheduled for Today

The season 2 of the Eko Talent Hunt Programme of the office of the Special Assistant to the Governor on football matters kicked off yesterday with the under-15 tournament holding at the Campos Mini Stadium, Lagos.

In the first match of the day Eko Football team were beaten by their counterparts Cowbell Football Academy by a lone goal.

In the Second game, Fame Football club beat Greater Tomorrow Academy by three goals to one to pick their first three points in the tournament that has coaches and scouts from around the world, taking note of the outstanding players in the tournament.

Farmers football Academy also lost to Poshey football Academy 2-1, while BRF Academy Worked Over Pepsi Academy in the last match of the day.

Meanwhile the 2 days coaching clinic also put together as part of the season 2 Programme ended yesterday with the coaches applauding the organisers for putting the clinic together.

One of the speakers at the 2 day Clinic is Renowned Sports Journalist and Lawyer Mr. Godwin Dudu – Orumen, Who presented an Insightful paper on “Protecting the RIGHTS of children”

Coach of BRF Academy, coach Tunde thanked organizers for their foresight in packaging the coaching clinic.

“This clinic is an eye opener and I believe most of my colleagues here have gained a lot just as I have also gained a lot from the resource persons that conducted the clinic.

Also in attendance were Ex internationals like Gbenga Okunowo, Mike Onyemachara, Teslim Fatusi and Wahid Akanni.

However the event continues today with matches in the tournament holding at the same venue of Campos Mini Stadium, Lagos. From 10:00am – 3:00pm daily, while the Finals comes up on the 12th of May at The Onikan Stadium in Lagos.
