Formation: 4-3-3

GoalKeeper: Costel Pantilimon (Sunderland)

The big Romanian goalkeeper was outstanding in the Tyne-Wear derby making two-world class saves from Sissoko and Perez respectively. He was one of the major reasons Sunderland defeated their fierce rivals.

Right back: Pablo Zabaleta (Manchester City)

Zabaleta’s performance against Crystal Palace was simply superb. His movement throughout the game was breath-taking,creating numerous chances and was a source of concern to Crystal Palace defence.

Left back: Ashley Young (Manchester United)

Ashley Young had a lovely game against his former club at the weekend. His darting runs and crosses was a problem for the Aston Villa defence throughout the game. He capped off his outstanding performance with a sublime cross which gave his team their only goal of the match.

Centre defender: Maya Yosida (Southampton)

The Japanese defender dealt with the threat of Romelu Lukaku and Steven Naismith with ease. His all-round performance against Everton was exceptional scoring his team third goal with a brave header.

Centre defender: John O’shea (Sunderland)

Sunderland Captain O’shea was at his best with a commanding display in defence.

Midfielder: Yaya Toure (Manchester City)

Toure stepped up his game in absence of his team strikers. He was a constant source of invention in the midfield against a resolute Crystal Palace side. He capped off his outstanding display with an absolute belter to score his team’s third goal.
