New Tv Agreements Announced For Davis Cup by BNP Paribas First Round Ties

The ITF has announced four new international broadcaster agreements in advance of this weekend’s Davis Cup by BNP Paribas World Group first round ties on 6-8 March to further expand the coverage of the competition. Davis Cup will be broadcast in all 16 nations contesting this weekend’s World Group ties, with 21 broadcasters covering the feature tie between Great Britain and USA in Glasgow. A total of 50 broadcasters will cover Davis Cup this weekend across the World Group and Zone Group ties.

Seven (Australia), Czech TV and Saran Media (Kazakhstan) have all signed multi-year deals with the ITF, while RTBF (Belgium) has signed an agreement for the first round tie between Belgium and Switzerland to guarantee coverage across all World Group nations.

Earlier this year the ITF announced a new strategic media rights partnership with beIN SPORTS for Davis Cup by BNP Paribas and Fed Cup by BNP Paribas. beIN SPORTS will broadcast this weekend’s Davis Cup feature tie on its own channels across South East Asia.

The partnership between ITF and beIN SPORTS is designed to increase the global exposure and quality of Davis Cup and Fed Cup coverage across both linear and digital channels to the benefit of the millions of tennis fans around the world who follow the competitions. In 2014, there were over 7,500 hours of dedicated Davis Cup TV coverage by 63 broadcasters in over 150 territories worldwide reaching a global audience of over 100 million viewers.
