CAF Super Cup to be played on weekend of 19-21 February

Contrary to reports in a section of the media, attributing that the Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) has announced 14 February 2016 as the date for the Orange CAF Super Cup, CAF wishes to confirm that the timing remains unchanged regarding the annual one-off match.

The CAF Super Cup has been scheduled to take place on the weekend of 19 to 21 February 2016 at the home grounds of the 2015 Orange CAF Champions League winner, in this case TP Mazembe.

The opponent is Etoile Sportive du Sahel, winners of the Orange CAF Confederation Cup.

The precise date and time of the match will be announced later.

USM Alger To Battle TP Mazembe In CAF Champions League Final

TP Mazembe of the Democratic Republic of Congo will meet Algeria’s USM Alger in the 2015 African Champions League final.

Mazembe booked their place on Sunday with a 3-nil win over Sudan’s Al Merreikh in the return leg of their semi-final in the Congolese mining hub Lubumbashi.

Tanzania international Mbwana Samata scored twice with Ivory Coast’s Roger Assale hitting their third to give the four times former champions a 4-2 aggregate win.

Elsewhere in the caf confedderations cup , Goals by Kermit Erasmus, Thamsanqa Gabuza, Thabo Rakhale and Thabo Matlaba were enough to take Orlando Pirates through to the final of the CAF Confederations Cup when they beat Al Ahly 4-3 (5-3 on aggregate) at Suez Stadium on Sunday night.

The win takes the Buccaneers to the final of the tournament and they’ll meet Etoile du Sahel of Tunisia in the final.
