The Undertaker Makes Shock Appearance At WWE Battleground

Now we did not see that coming did we? The Undertaker returns to a WWE main event that isn’t Wrestlemania.

The Dead Man made a shock appearance at WWE Battleground on Sunday during Seth Rollins’ WWE World Heavyweight title defense against Brock Lesnar.

The last time the legendary wrestler was seen in a WWE ring was at Wrestlemania when he defeated Bray Wyatt earlier in the year and fans were not expecting him to make an appearance until next year’s event.

But the Undertaker returned to the ring just as Brock Lesner was about to seal his win against Seth Rollins and twat the beast chances of reclaiming his WWE World Heavyweight title.

The two men engaged each other physically but it was the returning legend that overcame the stunned Lesnar to set up a potentially tantalizing encounter in the near future.

The Undertaker will have revenge in his mind after Brock Lesnar defeated him during their last encounter and ended the Dead Man’s over 20 years winning streak at Wrestlemania.

Well, hell knows no fury like an angry beast. This saying best described what transpired on RAW on Monday after the WWE Universe watched an angry Brock Lesner trash a brand new 2015 Cadillac on RAW.

Of course the car was not his. The vehicle was Seth Rollins gift to J&J Securities for helping him get rid of Lesner the previous week.

The beast did not carry out the act in the absence of the owner either. In fact, both men and the Rollins were present in the ring when Lesner took out his rage on the expensive vehicle.

The action forced J&J securities to leave the comfort of the ring and try to take out the beast on the entrance. However, both men took the beating of their lives as Lesner broke Jamie Noble’s arm with the
Kimura Lock while Mercury was suplex through the Cadillac’s windshield.

Wrestling Legend Dusty Rhodes Dies At 69

It was a sad day for wrestling fans around the world after WWE announced on Thursday that wrestling legend, Virgil Runnels, aka “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes passed on at the age of 69.

The WWE Hall of Famer was a popular figure in the ring in the 70s and 80s. A three-time NWA champions, Dusty wowed the audience with his colourful outfits and hard hitting style.

A master of the microphone, the wrestling legend continued to make his mark in the business long after his retirement with his colourful commentaries and interviews.

Dusty Rhodes will live on in the minds of wrestling fans. Indeed, his two sons, Gold dust and Star dust (Cody Rhodes) are prominent Superstars in the WWE and he has also impacted positively in the lives of many professionals all through the years as a teacher and instructor.

Ryback Wins Intercontinental Title After Grueling Elimination Chamber Match

Ryback finally got his hands on a WWE title after winning the Elimination Chamber Intercontinental title bout on Sunday.

It sounds incredible that the “Big Guy” has failed to get his hands on a belt in WWE since making his debut over two years ago. It was not for lack of opportunity or lack of trying but Ryback has consistently fallen short over the years.

However, the demons of previous attempt at securing WWE gold was finally put to rest after the grappler came out victorious in WWE Elimination Chamber.

Ryback, Dolph Ziggler, R-Truth, Mark Henry, Sheamus and King Barrett were involved in the intimidating Elimination Chamber structure and the prize was the Intercontinental title which was left vacant following injury sustained by previous title holder, Daniel Bryan.

The match itself was an exciting event with Superstars trading blows and death defying moves inside one of the most inauspicious structures in professional wrestling. In the end, Ryback stood tall after pinning Sheamus for the win.

Dean Ambrose And Bray Wyatt Renew Rivalry On SmackDown

Fans of WWE should be familiar with the intense rivalry between Bray Wyatt and Dean Ambrose that went on for months.

The feud between the two led to several main event matches with Wyatt appearing to have the number of the lunatic fringe after coming victorious on a number of occasions.

Last Monday, the two wrestlers were pitched against each other once again with Wyatt emerging victorious once more; however, Ambrose got his much sort after win against the new face of fear after emerging the winner in another intense battle on SmackDown.

Though both Superstars will not go head to head at WWE Elimination Champers in a few days, it will be interesting to see if WWE will look to reignite the rivalry in the near future.

It is no longer news to most observers and fans of the WWE that former members of the Shield are being fast tracked by the company to become the main center of attraction in the WWE.

With the aging of the likes of Kane and near retirement of The Undertaker and Triple H, the company is in desperate need of new attractions to carry on with the tradition of the WWE being the Mecca of professional wrestling.

Of course the likes of John Cena and Randy Orton still have some years of active competition in them but it is important that the company injects new and exciting athletes into the main roster.

This has informed the rise of Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose into prominence. The three started off as members of the Shield but since the group broke up, all three have recorded massive strides in their singles career.

Seth Rollins currently holds the WWE World Heavyweight title but before his championship win at WWE Wrestlemania earlier in the year, former members of the Shield have stared in the main event of WWE in the last five months at least.

The progression will continue at WWE Elimination Chamber in two weeks when Seth Rollins defends his title against his former partner Dean Ambrose, as for Roman Reigns, it is generally believed that the Samoan is being primed to take over from John Cena as the face of the company in the near future.

Injury Forces Daniel Bryan To Relinquish Intercontinental Title

For the second time in nearly two years, WWE Super Star, Daniel Bryan was forced to relinquish his title due to injury.

Just over a year ago, newly crowned WWE Heavyweight Champion, Daniel Bryan was asked to let go of his title after sustaining a career threatening neck injury.

Bryan’s neck was surgically repaired and the wrestler made a miraculous return to the ring after nearly a year on the sidelines. However, it appears fate has dealt a huge blow on the fan favourite as he has been forced to let go of yet another title.

In an emotional speech on Monday Night Raw, Bryan revealed that a scan revealed that he will be out of the ring for some time. The pint size wrestler stated that he cannot categorically state when he will return therefore he has to relinquish his WWE Intercontinental title.

The WWE Superstar also informed that it is likely he may never wrestle again but insist he will do his best to get back in the ring as soon as possible.

Randy Orton Gets The RKO Out Of His System On RAW

Randy Orton has been on the case of Seth Rollins since his return to WWE after four months out due to an injury inflicted on him by the former Shield man.

The enmity between the two saw them faceoff at Wrestlemania 31 and Orton came out victorious on that occasion. However, things has since changed, Rollins is now the WWE World Heavyweight Champion after cashing in his money in the bank contract at Wrestlemania.

Following the suspension of Brock Lesner from WWE, Orton has emerged as the number one contender to Rollins title at the Extreme Rules next Sunday.

However, as part of the conditions to doing battle with Rollins, the World Heavyweight Champion has stated that Orton will not be allowed to use his signature finishing move, the RKO.

Orton on his part requested that the match took place in a steel cage so as to prevent any form of interference. However, the 12-time champion stated that since he will not be able to use the RKO, he will have to dish out enough of it before Sunday’s bout stating that Rollins himself will be a victim by the end of RAW.

Orton kept his promise. After hitting the RKO on a number of Superstars during RAW, he finally nailed Rollins with the move by the end of the evening setting the stage for an explosive encounter on Sunday.

Randy Orton To Challenge Seth Rollins For The WWE World Heavyweight Title

With Brock Lesnar suspended from WWE indefinitely, Randy Orton became the number one contender for the WWE World Heavyweight title currently held by Seth Rollins after the Authority anointed one cash-in his Money in the Bank contract at Wrestlemania.

However, it was not an easy ride for Orton in his quest to regain the title has he had to do battle with two other contenders to the crown in a triple threat match.

At the beginning of RAW on Monday, WWE’s director of operations, Kane made a main event match which pitch Orton against Ryback and Roman Reigns in a triple threat match the winner of which will go on to challenge Rollins for the title at WWE Extreme Rules in three weeks.

Orton won the match despite interference by the Authority, however, despite his win the Apex Predator still suffered a Cub Stomp from Rollins at the end of the fight.

Brock Lesnar Retires From MMA, Re-Signed With WWE

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar has extended his stay with the company after penning a new multiyear deal with the Pro-Wrestling brand on Monday.

In an interview with ESPN, the former UFC champion revealed that he and the company came to a conclusion on Monday and he decided to stay with WWE despite reports of his return to UFC after Wrestlemania.

Lesnar’s current deal with the WWE ends at Wrestlemania and reports has it that the fighter was considering going back to UFC after being forced to quit MMA in 2011 due to health reasons.

Lesnar revealed that he had entertained the thought of making a return to UFC stating that he has been training for his eventual return for over two months. However, after consulting with his family and friends, the 37-year-old wrestler has decided to remain with WWE.

Lesnar also stated that he will not be returning to UFC or any MMA circuit in the future stating that he has retired from Mixed Martial Arts.

“I’m officially closing the door on MMA. I re-signed with WWE last night. We came to a conclusion last night. The offer on the table, I just could not refuse,” Lesnar said.

The Viper Strikes On WWE Monday Night RAW

Seth Rollins felt the venom of the viper on RAW after Randy Orton totally annihilated him in front of the WWE Universe on Monday.

The night began with Orton formally rejoining the Authority and teaming up with Rollins to take on Roman Reigns in a handicap match later that evening. The signs were there that Orton was up to something but the Authority refused to see through the viper’s deception.

Orton succeeded in keeping Kane and Big Show away from ringside while also instigating the expulsion of J&J securities during the bout. But the viper’s plans began to come to fruition when he refused to be tagged-in allowing Reigns to pin Rollins with a Spear.

After which Orton took vengeance on Rollins for trying to end his career months ago. The viper showed no mercy to the self-acclaimed future of the WWE. He dished out a punishment that has not been seen in recent times ending it with an RKO through the announcers table.

Intercontinental Championship Merry-Go-Round Continues On SmackDown

Since Dean Ambrose stole the Intercontinental Championship from Wade Barrett at WWE Fastlane some weeks ago, the coveted belt has had several illegitimate holders in recent weeks and it was set to be held by another Superstar on SmackDown.

At the beginning of the night, The Intercontinental title was in the possession of Dolph Ziggler but it was stolen by R-Truth when a brawl ensued between Ziggler, Barrett, Ambrose and Luke Harper.

As a result, a tag team main event bout which pitched Ziggler and Ambrose against Barrett and Harper was arranged for later that evening.

The team of Ziggler and Ambrose won the day but it was what happened afterwards that was most interesting. Barratt attempts to retake his title after attacking both Ziggler and Ambrose after the bout before turning his attention to R-Truth at ringside.

But Harper beat him to it after Ambrose took out Barrett with a top rope attack, however, Truth escape from Harper with a quick hit and run.

Daniel Bryan met Truth just as the rapping Superstar tried to make a get away with the title and he willing hand the title to the former World Champion. But just as the Yes Man was leading the audience in a Yes chant, Star Dust attacked the fan favourite from behind and made away with the title.

The Intercontinental Championship will be determined through a ladder match at Wrestlemania 31.
