Event Technical Committee Approves Replacement In UAE’s Squad For The ICC World T20 Qualifier 2015 #wt20q

The ICC has confirmed that the Event Technical Committee of the ICC World Twenty 20 Qualifier 2015 has approved Rohan Mustafa as a replacement player for Saqib Ali in United Arab Emirates’ squad for the tournament.

Saqib damaged a finger in his left hand during a practice session on Monday night and, following an x-ray it has emerged that he will not be fit to play any part in the tournament.

Rohan, the 26-year-old Kohat born all-rounder, has played seven One-Day Internationals and 16 T20 internationals for UAE to date.

Any injury or illness-based replacement requires a written submission to the Event Technical Committee along with a diagnosis from a medical practitioner as to the extent of the injury or illness. Once replaced, a player may not return to the squad save as an approved subsequent replacement for another injured or ill player.

The Event Technical Committee of the ICC World Twenty 20 Qualifier 2015 is Geoff Allardice (ICC General Manager – Cricket, Chairman), Chris Tetley (ICC Head of Events), Warren Deutrom (Chief Executive, Cricket Ireland / Co-Tournament Director), Euan McIntyre (Cricket Scotland / Co-Tournament Director), Pommie Mbangwa and Dominic Cork (independent nominees).

UAE will take on Scotland in the first opening match of the ICC World Twenty 20 Qualifier 2015 at The Grange, Edinburgh on Thursday.
