The Nigeria Cup 2014 is undoubtedly one of the biggest and most prestigious tournaments of the Golf Community. This is the most sought after trophy for all participating golfers.
The Ikoyi Club Golf community played host to partnering sponsors to make this event a spectacular one.
Sponsors such as Access Bank, Diamond Bank and United Bank of Africa were present at the press conference.
The chairman of the organising committee of the The Nigeria Cup 2014, Mr. Tony Onwu, pointed out that activities surrounding the tournament will be a “week-long” and will commence with the Children’s Tournament after which the Caddies will get a chance to compete on the 29th of September.
On Tuesday the 30th of September the ladies will take their turn on the course.
On Wednesday the 1st of October, after the tournament players, club members and their guests will be treated to an Award and Barbeque Night tagged “An Evening of Style” Highlights of the day will be comedy, award presentation and a Fashion show.
On the 2nd of October, it will be the turn of the professionals to compete on the course for a total sum of N3 million which will be given to the winner at the Gala Night.
On Friday, 3rd of October the course will be open for Sponsors and Veteran members of the club to Tee Off and afterwards there will be an award cocktail specially organised for sponsors and their guests.
Saturday, the 4th of October, will be the final tournament for members and the tournament will end with a Black Tie Award Dinner and Gala Night.
Onwu also said the Nigeria Cup 2014 will support projects aimed at developing golf and assisting the less privileged with part of the proceeds going to a charities of the committees choice.
