Draw Announced For 2015 Davis Cup by BNP Paribas World Group Play-Offs

The Draw for the 2015 Davis Cup by BNP Paribas World Group play-offs was held on Tuesday at the ITF headquarters in London. The World Group play-offs will take place on 18-20 September alongside the World Group semifinals.

The winning nations in the World Group play-offs will qualify for the 2016 World Group, while the losing nations will compete in their respective Zone Group I events in 2016.

In the World Group semifinals, Great Britain will be at home to Australia, and Belgium will be at home to Argentina.

Seeds for the draw were based on the latest ITF Davis Cup Nations Ranking of 20 July.

The ITF has announced the seeds for the Draw for the 2015 Davis Cup by BNP Paribas World Group play-offs. The Draw will take place on Tuesday 21 July at the ITF offices in London at 10:00 local time (09:00 GMT). The eight seeded nations in the World Group play-offs are:

Each of the seeds will be drawn against one of the following unseeded nations:

Colombia
Dominican Republic

The 2015 World Group play-offs will take place alongside the World Group semifinals on 18-20 September. The eight winning nations will contest the 2016 World Group, while the eight losing nations will contest their respective Zone Group I events in 2016.

The line-up for the World Group play-offs was confirmed when Dominican Republic, India, Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Slovakia and Uzbekistan all won their Zone Group I second round ties on 17-19 July (Colombia won its second round tie on 6-8 March). They joined the losers from the 2015 World Group first round ties.

The ITF has announced the results for the two Davis Cup by BNP Paribas Zone Group I second round play-off ties taking place on 24-26 October.

New Zealand defeated Chinese Taipei 4-1 and Sweden overcame Latvia 3-2. New Zealand and Sweden remain in Zone Group I in 2015, while Chinese Taipei and Latvia are relegated to Zone Group II next year.

The draw for the 2015 Davis Cup by BNP Paribas Europe/Africa Zone Group II will be held at the ITF offices in London at 10:00 (09:00 GMT) on Wednesday 29 October. The seeds will be based on the new ITF Davis Cup Nations Ranking of Monday 27 October.
