After successfully hosting the season 2 of the most glamorous domestic basketball league in the country, the organizers of the award winning Abuja City League are set to double their efforts and ensure next season’s City Leagues games become stronger and better.
Co-coordinator of the Abuja City League, Fanen Iornem declared that next season’s City League games would be a different ball game and efforts towards getting big sponsorship for the domestic league as been stepped up.
Speaking further, Fanen Iornem expressed his optimism about the prospects of the league if all and sundry support the domestic competition because of the accolades the league got after the end of the 2015 season.
He says that the City League is the only recognized private basketball league that has been on for 2 season without any interruption due to the organizational structure and the management style which has propelled the league to an enviable status.
Fanen Iornem appealed to Nigerians and corporate bodies to help sustain the City League through sponsorship.
The Abuja City League has produced a lot of budding stars and great teams, some of the city league products now ply their trade with bigger teams in the Nigerian professional basketball league and some are also abroad continuing their basketball dreams.
All Stars basketball academy, 3rd best team at this year’s City league emerged the NBBF national division 2 league champions.
