Venezuela Caciques Cruise To Second In Group C With Comprehensive 5-0 Win Over Argentina Condors

Following their narrow defeat to Argentina Condors in Buenos Aires back in Week 3, Venezuela Caciques were eager to redress the balance on home soil on Friday night, and did so in grand style with a devastating performance against their South American rivals. The Vargas boxing fans were out in force and able to celebrate a memorable 5-0 win that puts the Caciques second in Group C with just two preliminary-stage matches to go.

The hosts’ 2014 National Flyweight Champion Jesus Rojas had little international experience going in to the opening bout against Condors’ Junior Zarate, but his patient approach paid off, launching attacks from solid defensive positions and ultimately landing some incisive combinations in the fourth round that tipped the judges’ decision in his favour to give Venezuela the lead.

Southpaw Victor Rodriguez once again showed his impressive combative spirit as he battled Condors’ Elias Gonzalez into the corners and took a flawless unanimous win in the evening’s second bout, before Caciques’ Maifer Lopez put the match beyond the visitors’ reach with a comprehensive display against Argentine light welterweight Lucas Ivan Gimenez. The crowd roared into life as soon as Lopez had his opponent on the canvas in the first round, from which point he never looked back, delivering a spectacular win for his side.

At 3-0 up, that left Caciques’ big-name middleweight star Endry Saavedra to take a unanimous win against his old rival Christian Zarate for the second time in two seasons, before Alfonso Flores completed the rout in style against Argentina Condors’ Dario Alcapan, sealing an excellent night for the Venezuelans that puts them in strong contention for a place in the knockout stages.

South-American Boxing Showdown In Vargas As Venezuela Caciques Host Group C rivals Argentina Condors

Venezuela Caciques welcome Argentina Condors to Vargas on Friday night as they seek revenge for a narrow Week 3 defeat in Buenos Aires. The Condors got Season VI off to a flying start with back-to-back home wins, but will be tested on the road against a Caciques side hoping to build on a spirited performance against Russian Boxing Team in Week 5.

Venezuela’s 2014 National Flyweight Champion Jesus Rojas has a tall task for the Caciques in the evening’s opener against experienced Junior Zarate, who defeated the likes of Azerbaijan Baku Fires’ Magomed Ibiyev and Astana Arlans Kazakhstan’s Yerzhan Zhomart during Season V.

The hosts’ young bantamweight Victor Rodriguez already has some strong international performances under his belt, but he faces the more experienced Argentine Elias Gonzalez in the second bout before WSB debutant Maifer Lopez goes up against Lucas Ivan Gimenez in their light welterweight showdown.

The Venezuelans’ star middleweight boxer Endry Saavedra will be primed for his rematch against the man he beat one year ago, Christian Zarate, before the heavyweights complete Friday’s action with Alfonso Flores looking to send the home fans away happy with a strong showing against Argentina Condors’ Dario Alcapan.

Caciques De Venezuela Get New Wsb Season Off To A Dream Start In Warsaw…,

Caciques de Venezuela get new WSB season off to a dream start in Warsaw beating the Rafako Hussars Poland

Rafako Hussars Poland struggled once more to cope with the South American swagger of Caciques de Venezuela, suffering a 3-2 defeat in their World Series of Boxing Season VI opening match. It was a third straight defeat for the Hussars at the hands of the Venezuelans, whose management had reinforced their team during December’s Draft Pick with the likes of Riccardo D’Andrea, but even the experienced Italian couldn’t halt the Venezuelan march.

The early signs looked positive from the hosts, now led by one of WSB’s most well-travelled coaches Sergey Korchinsky. Dawid Jagodzinski was in attacking mood against Angelino Cordova in their opening light-flyweight bout, but he was unable to sustain the pressure, allowing the Venezuelan too much room from which to launch his combinations and earn the visitors an early lead.

That left high expectations on the shoulders of Hussars’ newcomer D’Andrea and he edged the opening round against Jose Diaz. The crowd’s growing optimism was to be short lived as the Caciques’ bantamweight talent landed a lethal right jab late in the second round to put the Italian on the canvas, forcing the referee to end the match. After knocking out an Argentine opponent, Elias Gonzalez, last season, Diaz is earning himself a reputation for landing big punches.

At 2-0 down, the Hussars were able to call upon another exciting draft pick, Germany’s light welterweight star Kastriot Sopa, to try and turn the match around. Eager to inflict an emphatic defeat, Caciques’ Luis Arcon went on the attack immediately. Sopa had little response in the opening rounds but as Arcon tired, the German grew in confidence, using all his experience to carve out a narrow win over the five rounds.

Pawel Ruminski was called upon to replace Polish welterweight star Tomasz Jablonski in Friday’s team, and his debut could hardly have been more testing against Rio 2016 Olympic Test Event winner Johan Jose Gonzalez and with his team 2-1 down. Despite a battling performance, Ruminski was unable to cause an upset, and the Caciques took an unassailable 3-1 lead on the night.

It may have been a dead rubber in terms of the match, but the final heavyweight bout between the hosts’ Michal Olas and Caciques’ Colombian import Deivis Julio brought a morale-boosting win for Rafako Hussars. Struggling early on, Olas bravely fought his way back into the match, knocking his opponent down in the third round and giving the crowd something to cheer on a difficult night for the Poles.
