Rwanda men and women beach volleyball teams led the first day of Zone 5, Pool 9 of the CAVB Continental Cup held in Pyramids gardens in Cairo, Egypt.
In Men’s Competition Rwanda beat Sudan 4-0 in 4 matches showing big dominance for the winners who gained 8 points against 4 for Sudan.
The second match was a thrilling one between hosts Egypt and Uganda as the home team won the first match 2-1 before Uganda came back to win the second match 2-1 to draw 1-1 in matches. Again Egypt rebounded to win the third match 2-1, but Uganda replied quickly to win the fourth match 2-1 and draw 2-2 in matches to extend the encounter to the golden set which was overwhelmed by Egypt 15-13.
In the women’s matches Rwanda beat Egypt in three consecutive matches before Egypt won the fourth as the emerging Rwandan against 9 points versus 6 for Egypt
