CAF Super Cup to be played on weekend of 19-21 February

Contrary to reports in a section of the media, attributing that the Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) has announced 14 February 2016 as the date for the Orange CAF Super Cup, CAF wishes to confirm that the timing remains unchanged regarding the annual one-off match.

The CAF Super Cup has been scheduled to take place on the weekend of 19 to 21 February 2016 at the home grounds of the 2015 Orange CAF Champions League winner, in this case TP Mazembe.

The opponent is Etoile Sportive du Sahel, winners of the Orange CAF Confederation Cup.

The precise date and time of the match will be announced later.

CAF Super Cup set for February

The CAF Super Cup The match between Al-Ahly (Egypt) the winner of the Orange Champions’ League and Club Sportif Sfaxien (Tunisia) – winner of the Orange Confederation Cup will be played in Cairo Egypt in February.

The match comes up on Saturday the 22nd of February 2014 at the Cairo International Stadium, in Egypt.

CAF confirmed the dates at the General meeting held Friday 24,January 2013. Ahly will be favourites for the crown considering the fact they will have home advantage on their side as they will most likely be cheered on by a rapturous home crowd
