Tunisia to replace Kenya as host Of 2016 Women’s African Volleyball Club Championship

African Volleyball Confederation “CAVB” confirmed Tunisia as a substitute organiser for the 2016 Women’s African Club Championship after Kenya withdrew from hosting the prestigious event.

The competition will be held from April 22nd to the 30th, 2016 in the Tunisian capital. CAVB defined the date of March 20 as a deadline to accept the participating teams.

The CAVB Board of Administration will figure out the sanctions to be taken against the Kenyan Federation after the damages caused by their withdrawal less than 8 weeks before the onset of the event in its ordinary meeting in March.

Kenya previously organised the Women’s Club Championship in 2005, 2009, 2011 and 2012 in the last ten years. Tunisia’s last time of hosting the event was in 2014.
