Excitement Emerges as Gambia Women Conquer Pool B at CAVB Continental Cup

After overcoming tough rivals in the lead-up to the CAVB round two of the continental cup, Gambia Women’s beach volleyball team under the tutelage of Coach Ebrima Nyass were eager to put up a strong fight against their opponents in Pool B at the Continental Cup tournament in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, Nevertheless, kudos to the excellent efforts of The Gambian Women who emerged 1st in the competition after beating Ghana and Burkina Faso in Day 2 of the events.

Gambia conquered their respective opponents in the Women’s event while the Ghana men prevailed over Gambia. Gambia men held its grip to force well composed Ghana to play the golden set but the Gambians finally yielded to the strong Ghana drive at 15-11 for Ghana to stand a better chance of winning the gold.

A fight for the Gambians against the host in the men’s event on Saturday in a game that Gambia needs only two victories to claim silver. A tougher Third day will happen on Saturday as Ghana women will go head-to-head with Burkina Faso while Gambia men will face Ivory Coast.
