Golovkin Stops Lemieux In Round Eight Of Unification Bout

Gennady Golovkin Showed why he’s the hottest Boxing property out there with a display that boxing enthusiast have been yearning for. a Sold Out Madison Square Garden was the venue of this epic battle between two great pugilist and they didn’t disappoint with their display.

Golovkin had set the tone early on in the fight and his combo and body shots paid off in the fourth when Lemieux knees buckled but Golovkin Stepped his attack in the fifth then eventually dropped Lemieux to his knee.

The 33 year Kazakhstan boxer is on a mission to unify all the belts in his weight category and he moved a step closer when the referee stopped the fight handing Golovkin an eight round TKO.

The Champion was definitely in the lead in all the previous rounds and Lemieux would have had to knock Golovkin out to win the bout, but that was not going to happen today.

Golovkin who holds the WBC-WBA Titles now adds the IBF Title to his collection and as said he wants to fight the winner of the Canelo vs Cotto bout.

Tonights victory Means Gennady Golovkin remains unbeaten at 34-0, 31 of which are knockouts, while Lemieux record now stands at 34-3.
