Go Round Fc Win Again

Promotion chasing Go Round FC continued their fight for a place in the Premier League next season with a 2-0 win over Abia Comets on Friday.

The game played at the Kris Dera Hotel Stadium, also known as the Lions Den ended goaless at half time but came alive in the 2nd stanza

It wasn’t until the 60th minute that former Sharks midfielder, Benjamin Newman opened scores for the homers.

With a packed defence in front of him, he was able to lift the ball from just outside the 6 yard box and over the outstretched arms of the goalkeeper.

Ten minutes later, substitute, Chidi Nwachukwu, during a goal mouth melee blasted the ball through a cluster of legs and into the post for the second goal.

After the game, coach of Go Round FC, Ngozi Elechi expressed optimism that promotion to the Premier League was still on the cards.

“I am delighted that we won. We now need to win our next game on the road to Remo and then at home to be sure of promotion. I am sure we will make it,” Elechi said.

Coach of Abia Comets, Victor Nwakama said he believed both teams did well but Go Round FC took their chances.

“These are things that happen in football. Go Round were lucky in the second half because of the rain that wasn’t there in the first half,” Nwakanma said.
