World Series of Boxing Season V Playoffs Participants Revealed

After the end of the Regular Season in the World Series of Boxing (WSB), all six Franchises who have qualified for the Playoff stages have now been determined.

The first quarter-final will take place on 6-7 May, as Azerbaijan Baku Fires host Mexico Guerreros.

All 10 weight categories will compete across two nights, and if there is a draw after every bout has been completed, a Tie-Breaker Bout in the Light flyweight (49 kg) division will determine the winner.

Azerbaijan finished second in the Group B table with 10 wins from 14 matches, while Mexico overtook Ukraine Otamans in the last week of the group stages to qualify third in Group A with the same record as the Baku Fires.

Whichever teams wins will travel to Season IV Champions Cuba Domadores in the semi-finals on 21-22 May, following the same format as the quarter-finals, with the tiebreaker at Flyweight (52 kg).

Cuba are undefeated in Season V of WSB with a perfect 14-0 record and have qualified directly through to the last four as a result of finishing top of Group A.

The second quarter-final will take place on 10-11 May where Russian Boxing Team host Italia Thunder across two legs, and the Tie-Breaker Bout will take place at Light welterweight (64 kg) if required.

Russian Boxing Team placed second in Group A with 10 wins out of 14 matches, while Italia Thunder won exactly half of their matches in the Regular Season to finish third in Group B.
