The Round of 16, Quarter Finals and Semi-finals of games (Singles & Doubles) went down today at the Dr.Molade Okoya Thomas Hall of the Teslim Balogun Stadium.

There were lots exciting moments to savour as Table Tennis supporters from far and wide came to watch the best players in Africa and in the world do their thing.

Nigerian Athletes have proven their worth as Ojo Onaolapo, Aruna Quadri, Funke Oshonaike and Edem Effiong have all made it to the semi-finals in the singles event.

The future also look good for Nigeria as far as table tennis is concerned as we saw a scintillating performance from Hassan Nurudeen who seems to be getting better as the day goes by and who might end up winning the U-21 title next year.

The Foreign players have also put up fine displays in this tournament like Jieni Shao, Dina Meshref, Andre Silva, El-Belaili Mohammed.

Brothers At War: As Winners Golden Bet Powered Lagos FA Cup Enters Round of 32

The rivalry and competitiveness of Lagos FA Cup, formerly known as the Challenge Cup will continue on Monday with Defending Champions, AS Racine football Club taking on Bridge Football Club in the round of 32 match.

The match is generating so much interest given the relationship between the management of both sides, AS Racine, proprietor Emmanuel Ibru a very close friend of Godson Uti, General Manager of Bridge FC and incidentally are both members of All Stars International of Lagos, hence none of them will like to lose to each other.

Apart from that it was AS Racine that defeated Bridge FC in the round of 16 in the last edition, making the match a make or mar encounter for Bridge FC.

Winners Golden Bet

General Manager of AS Racine FC, Mojeed Adedingbin stated that although the two club sides have got close ties, they will put friendship aside on Monday morning when they confront each other for a place in the next round of the Winners Golden Bet sponsored championship.

“Yes Bridge FC is more like a sister club to Us and they are not a bad side for that matter, but we are not ready to lose our title just like that, thus our determination to go all out for victory on Monday, by his grace”. Adedingbin boasted.

On his part, Head Coach of Bridge FC, Lateef Daramola disclosed that they are ready for the match, having put so much into their preparations and his lads are ready to take their own pound of flesh from them.

Players To Look Out For From Both Sides

Modibo Cisse, Manga Jacob and Bayo Idowu are some of the players to look out for in AS Racine, while Bridge FC are likely to parade players like Kabiru Nosiru, an Attacking Midfielder who propelled Team Lagos to the gold medal of the Men’s football event at the 2012 National Sports Festival, also expected to make the starting line up for Bridge FC are Sunday Lawrence and Galadima Sanni

Also on Monday, 36 Lion FC will confront Anointed Stars Football Club in a match that promises lots of excitement, given the pedigree of both sides who like to use the ball.

With Qudus Suleman marshaling the midfield, while Yusuf Lawal is always ready to wreak havoc with goals, 36 Lion FC are beaming with confidence to move to the next round.

Other matches billed for Monday are Christ Ambassador Football Club taking on My People Football Club, while Future Stars Academy will also battle LSDPC football club for ticket to round of 16.

On Sunday Ikorodu United will slug it out with Freestan Sports FC in the star match of the day, Maurice Cooreman tutored side, Ikorodu United will want to make a statement in the first outing in the Winners Golden Bet powered Lagos FA Cup.

Also on Sunday Ekofootball Beach Soccer League champions, Eko Akete Football Club will play against Oceania football club for ticket to the next round.

Nath Boys FC will take on Ascenders FC in a match that promises lots of fun.
