A sports journalist has urged the Nigeria Football Federation to do more for the good of the female football teams in the country.

Speaking in Abuja on Tuesday, Ms Aderonke Ogunleye-Bello, a female football aficionado and Change Agent said the Nigeria Football Federation should pay more attention to all the female national teams.

The Award winning journalist implored the Amaju Pinnick led NFF to open the Super Falcons camp within the shortest period of time to enable adequate preparations for the FIFA World Cup which will start on June 6 in Canada; and also expose them to international friendly matches.

“The NFF should please organize as many friendly matches as possible for the women national team, these girls need to start playing competitive matches together as early as possible, they need to bond together and work as a team, ensure a better location for the team to camp for acclimatization, let us start early, the world cup starts in less than five months” Ms Ogunleye-bello said

“I want to plead with the NFF to concentrate more on women’s football, increase their allowance and get them a better welfare package; The Super Falcons who won the Cup of Nations are yet to be hosted by the Nigerian President unlike their male counterpart” she added

“For example, in all of the Super Falcons six world cup appearances, they have made it to group stage five times and quarter finals once and even won the African Cup of Nations nine times above the male team so what we are saying here, they should be celebrated and applauded”

“Maureen Madu was not celebrated when she won the most capped player for the team with 101 caps above Joseph Yobo that was widely celebrated and many more” she concluded
